FSES Support Module is put into operation

Automated system designed by Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES) facilitates education programs design and development according to the FSES.

Its functions are:

  • to create courses and course units (modules, practice etc.) in hierarchies;
  • to create a list of the competences pegged to education program (or the specification of standard for customized curriculum), or to courses (course units); competences can be elaborated by the university and presented hierarchically; 
  • to define knowledge, skills and expertise (KSE) within the education program (or specification for standard or actual curriculum) pegged to courses; KSE can be specified and presented  hierarchically
  • to link the KSEs and competences within the courses (competence-based model);
  • to link the KSEs and the existing course units for education program purposes;
  • to describe the FSES formal requirements;
  • to create curriculum pegged to competences;
  • to create course units, to define study mode and class hours, type of tests, etc.;
  • to reviewing the curriculum (standard and customized) for compliance with  the FSES  formal requirements (A8);
  • to check if the students’ competences have been  developed and the curriculum objectives achieved (if the curriculum covers all the targeted competences and KSEs,  with reference to courses) (A9);
  • to carry out a walkthrough analysis of all the university curricula with the view to adjust and improve them; to carry out  a walkthrough analysis of the KSEs and competences within the university curricula for detecting their similarities (analysis of  similar  KSEs and competences within the course units, analysis of the course units and the KSEs and competences within the curricular);
  • to generate courses units per semester

Automated system of curricular design developed according to the FSES is on the approval test.
